PRO-NOX Office Treatment

pronox treatment

We are one of the few gynecological offices in the state to use ProNox for pain-free visits and office procedures.  The treatment has long been trusted and advertised by dentist offices, and is now available in our office for a safe, relaxing office visit.

PRO-NOX stands as a nitrous oxide delivery system designed for the management of pain. It utilizes a balanced mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide inhaled by individuals to swiftly alleviate pain, enhance comfort, and alleviate anxiety. It’s important to note that PRO-NOX does not induce general anesthesia or cause unconsciousness. Instead, it can be used alongside local anesthesia to reduce pain, discomfort, and stress.

Nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas,” has long been acknowledged as a fast-acting mild sedative in medical practice. PRO-NOX introduces an innovative delivery approach, featuring a self-administered system that empowers users to regulate their own comfort levels. Furthermore, it incorporates state-of-the-art delivery systems and safety measures.

  • Patient-Controlled: Allows patients to regulate their pain relief dosage.
  • Needle-Free: Eliminates the need for needles during administration.
  • Non-Narcotic: Does not contain narcotic substances.
  • Rapid Action: Acts swiftly to provide relief.
  • Short Duration: Leaves the body quickly, allowing a swift return to regular activities.
  • Ability to Drive: In most cases, patients can safely drive themselves home following office treatments.

  • Speed and Transience: PRO-NOX takes effect and wears off swiftly, enabling patients to drive home after their procedures.
  • Safety and Effectiveness: PRO-NOX is a secure and efficient option for managing pain and anxiety for most individuals, without the risk of addiction.
  • Patient Autonomy: Patients have control over their PRO-NOX dosage, making real-time adjustments during procedures.
  • Comfort: Generally well-tolerated by patients, with minimal side effects.

The Pro-NOX System empowers patients to self-administer the gas as needed to alleviate discomfort and anxiety.

Using a mouthpiece, patients inhale the gas, quickly inducing a warm, euphoric sensation; hence relaxing the patient. The patient retains control over the dosage and can cease inhalation at any point.

The effects of nitrous oxide typically persist for 3-5 minutes, during which patients can continue to manage their treatment by inhaling additional doses if necessary. Post-procedure, patients undergo brief monitoring to ensure complete recovery from Pro-NOX effects before being cleared to go home.
